Just Hanging Out

These critters were just hanging out at the house on Sunday

afternoon while we were trying to work. At one time, we

had 4 deer in the picture, 2 bucks (this 4 pt and a spike) a

doe & a baby that still had it's spots. They were eating at the

bottom of the hill in front of the house by our burn pile which is

only about 50 yards from the front door.

Rock & Countertops

Concrete Countertops before we stained them. This

is looking where the Cooktop will go on the right and

the kitchen sink is on your left of the picture.

Kitchen sink area and Fridge will go in space on the left

of this picture. It's cured and ready for stain. Right of kitchen sink area after we stained it !! We love it. Now it's ready for the epoxy that will seal it. We'll do this part on Tuesday. Another finished look This is a look at the bar and the fireplace after they were grouted. In case your wondering, the cut out above the mantle is for the Flat Screen TV. Looks a little odd right now. And absolutely NO comments about the DIRTY floors !! ha,ha

Rock !!

This is the rock guys homemade scaffold to the roof for

carrying the rock up to the chimney. I'm not sure I

would tackle this one !! ha,ha

All of the corners of the house had to have

felt & metal lathing put on before the scratch

coat could be put on. Now it's ready for rock.

Don't worry...the red tape will come off ! It's

to keep the walls clean.

just done and will have to be grouted

w/ colored mortar for the finished look.

Fireplace is ready for rock. We put the

(3) big stones on last night for the hearth

as you can see here in the picture.

Here is a look at the bar before it's grouted !! We are

so happy how this is turning out and giving the house

a more finished look. We're getting closer !!

into the kitchen area. Tonight we're going to stain

the bar top and hopefully I'll post some pic's tomorrow

on the process !! Can't wait to see a little color on there.

On Thursday Night before the Reunion, we had a little

gathering at my sister and brother-in-laws for all the

family that was coming in early. The kids were able to

play outside and get requainted w/ all of us since some

we only see once a year.
