Food Plots & Water

We woke up Saturday morning and saw this !!

Left the house at 10 a.m. Saturday morning and returned around 4:30 and discovered that it had rained another 2 inches and the water was flowing strong and it looked like this....

You can really tell how much it came up in just a few hours !

Levee showing some green ! We planted bermuda

grass and some food plot stuff last Saturday and

by this Friday we had green stuff poping up !

The Pond / Lake

Before the work began - I'm standing in the pond area

Up on the south side looking down into the pond area

Here they come !! Started on Monday -Aug.1

3-tractors and 5-dirt pans. Here they're taking out

the core for the levee

Making their rounds -scooping up the dirt and

bringing it to the levee area

This picture was taken early Thursday Morning

It's almost to grade now - Should be done today !

So probably the next time any of you visit, this

will be where you will be driving in from hopefully !!

We had a great time this past weekend with all

of our family in for a reunion. They came from West

Virginia, Texas, & Mississippi to enjoy an exciting

weekend together. On Thursday night, those of us that

were here already went out to the Whippett for Supper

and fellowship. On Friday Night, we met at my mom's house

for some Hot Dogs & Hamburgers and Games. Couldn't find

a Blow Up Waterslide to rent so we made the kids a

Redneck Slip -n- Slide our of visqueen and they loved it !

As you can tell from the pictures all the kids enjoyed

catching up with their cousins for another year.

Landscaping & Carport

This is my lonely pot of freshly planted flowers in June

with nothing but dirt & rocks around

Here's the same pot w/ only the potato vine - it chocked everything else out !

Before the landscaping began

Finished landscaping for now. We wanted the all natural

look and we mostly got it. Just a little bit of different grasses

are growing and some purple stuff ! ha,ha

I'm going to share with you all some photos from over the summer. We've attended some Weddings & thrown some great Surprise Birthday Parties. We've floated a river & Swam in some pools. We've enjoyed events with our friends and just our usual weekly trips out to eat with our friends. The kids are doing good. You won't see too many pictures of them cause we don't see them very often. Justin lives in town and we see him every great once in a while. Ashley still lives at home even though we don't see her very much except at bedtime (ha,ha) She will be graduating from Cosmotology School in September so soon she'll be thrown out there into the working world like all of us !! She is loving the school and she ought to do well !! Keep looking below for some pictures of our hectic summer !

Summer Events

Went and floated the Ouachita River one weekend with

some good friends of ours John and Gina Dugan. This is

them ahead of us in Gina's customized jeep.

Got to see a Bald Eagle while floating the river. He would fly out of the tree just about the time we got to close and would only go down the river a little ways before we got to him again.
